The dream of becoming a doctor has come true for Odisha’s 19 -year -old student Subham Sabar, who worked as a laborer in Bengaluru to support his family. He cracked NEET UG exams and got admission in MBBS course at MKCG Medical College and Hospital.
Saber, who lives from a poor family in Mudulidhiya village in Khurda district of Odisha, was very happy when his teacher Basudev Moharna informed him that he had approved the entrance examination for MBBS course, reported PTI. He ranked 18,212 in the Scheduled Tribes category.
“Recently, while working at the construction site in Bengaluru, I got a call from my teacher who asked me to distribute sweets. I was surprised and asked him about the reason.
During his three months of work, the student earned Rs 45,000, saving Rs 25,000 to support his family. He went to Bengaluru as a migrant worker because “there was no option but to support my family.”
He said, “I shout to a very poor family of five. As the NEET exam was over, I decided to earn some money to support my family. I contacted a local contractor who sent me to Bangalore. The savings that I saved helped me get admission to the medical college,” he said. “
Initially aspiring to become a police officer, Sabar transferred his goal to become a doctor during the preparation of higher studies. Now he aims to fulfill his dream of serving the people of Odisha.
His parents, Sahadeb and colorful, hope that the government will provide financial assistance for its five-year MBBS course. “Since childhood, he has been very successful and meritorious. He wanted to become a doctor. His hard work guaranteed success,” said his mother, Rangi.
