After pygmy hippo Moo Deng went viral, now Ava, an adorable playful tabby tiger is gaining attention on social media
Nearly two months after Moo Daeng, the pygmy hippo living at Khao Khiol Open Zoo in Chonburi, eastern Thailand, went viral, there is another cute animal that has emerged as a new sensation.
Ava, a rare three-year-old golden tabby tiger, is now gaining attention online for her beauty. Their photos were shared by Chiang Mai Night Safari in northern Thailand on its Facebook page on November 18.
The zoo has emphasized this unique tiger lineage, which can be traced back to its parents, who were brought to the safari park from the Czech Republic and South Africa in 2015.
What’s attractive about Ava, born alongside her sister Luna on February 16, 2021, are her bright green eyes. Furthermore, they belong to a rare breed of tigers known as the Golden or Strawberry, which is also popular as the Bengal Tiger as it has color variation due to recessive genes.
According to ongoing reports, no more than 100 such tigers exist in the world.
Her cute, playful expression sparked interest on social media and people went crazy over her. One user commented, “She looks so clean, as if she takes bath 10 times a day,” while another said, “If not a friend then why act like a friend?” Another user wrote, “Awa 1, Mu Deng 0.”
