Maruti Suzuki E Vitara EV will launch on December 2, 2025 with segment-leading features including ALLGRIP-e 4WD, HEARTECT-e architecture and Level-2 ADAS.
The Maruti Suzuki E Vitara will be launched tomorrow, December 2, 2025, marking the Indian carmaker’s entry into the electric vehicle market on our shores. Developed as part of Maruti’s new EV strategy, the battery electric SUV will rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and the Mahindra BE6. At the time of launch, it will mark an important milestone for the company as it will turn a new page in its product strategy.
With production in India and plans to export to 100 countries, the e Vitara will boost Maruti Suzuki’s growing ambitions to become a global EV player. Although it has big shoes to fill, the SUV has the potential to make its mark in the growing Indian EV market. With the launch just around the corner, here are three key features that make the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara different from its competitors:
AllGrip-E:
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will debut the company’s ALLGRIP-e 4WD system in India. It will be available exclusively on variants equipped with a 61 kWh battery pack, and it uses an independent electric motor on each axle to distribute power to all four wheels. It comes with a Trail mode that can help increase traction through selective braking and torque distribution. This system will make the E Vitara the only electric vehicle in its segment and price bracket to offer electric four-wheel drive with a dedicated off-road mode.
Heartect-E Architecture:
The e Vitara is built on the new HEARTECT-e architecture which has been specifically designed and engineered to support battery electric vehicles. This lightweight platform enables the electric SUV to bring a flat-floor design while maintaining almost the same level of cabin space and legroom compared to conventional ICE-powered vehicles. It includes a high-voltage protection structure and brings compact overhangs to help maximize interior space.
The platform will be compatible with two battery pack options, 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The smaller unit will enable 142 bhp and 193 Nm of torque with a single-charge driving range of 344 km (WLTP). The 61 kWh battery will support 172 bhp in 2WD, but the 4WD variant increases the torque output to 300 Nm. Maruti says that this unit will provide a range of up to 500 km on a single-charge.

First Maruti with Level-2 ADAS:
Maruti Suzuki E Vitara is the first car from the Indian manufacturer to have Level-2 ADAS suite. Among the included driver assists, users will receive lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and more. The EV will come with a wide range of standard safety features, including seven airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and rear parking sensors and an electronic parking brake. While the EV has already received a four-star safety rating from Latin NCAP, it is yet to be tested by India NCAP.
