The first Hindu temple was inaugurated in Dubai today. The construction of the first Hindu temple in Dubai is special in itself. But the special thing is that people from other major religions of the world have cooperated in the construction of the temple. In this way, this temple is not only a symbol of Hindu religion, but also a symbol of mutual goodwill and cooperation among different religions of the world.
The BAPS Hindu Temple is the Middle East’s first traditional Hindu temple made of stone. Located in the Abu Murikhah district, this magnificent structure is a testament to the enduring friendship between India and the United Arab Emirates.
In 2015, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, donated 13.5 acres of land for the construction of the temple. The UAE government allocated 13.5 acres of additional land in January 2019, taking the total land gifted for the temple to 27 acres.
In this way the temple land was given by the Muslims. At the same time, the chief architect of the temple is Christian, the project manager is from Sikh religion, the construction contractor is Parsi, the structure engineer is Buddhist, the construction has been done by Hindus and the special thing is that the chief consultant is an atheist (does not believe in any religion). In this way the temple seems to represent the unity and harmony of many religions and cultures around the world.
specialty of the temple
40,000 cubic feet of marble has been used in the construction of the interior of the temple. The height of the temple is 108 feet, width is 180 feet and length is 262 feet. To build the temple, pink sandstone has been transported from northern Rajasthan to Abu Dhabi. The scorching heat of UAE will do nothing to these stones. Marble has been brought from Italy. To reduce the carbon footprint, fly ash has been used in the foundation of the temple along with concrete.
