The BMW F 450 GS has officially started production at TVS Motor Company’s Hosur plant, marking a major step forward for the decade-old partnership between TVS and BMW Motorrad. The new adventure motorcycle, which was first showcased at the EICMA 2025, is now rolling off the production line in India.
A new motorcycle and a new stage
The BMW F 450 GS is the most recent model to join the list of jointly developed BMW motorcycles produced in Hosur. Until now, this collaboration was best known for the G 310 R, G 310 GS and G 310 RR, these models were successful in generating strong demand in more than 100 markets. With the F 450 GS now entering production, both companies are signaling a move towards a more premium, higher capacity space.
Partnership reaches 200,000 units
The start of production coincides with another milestone: 200,000 units manufactured together since the strategic alliance began in 2013.
Officials from both sides said the figure shows how far the partnership has come, from a bold experiment in co-development to a global pipeline of entry-premium motorcycles.

Why does Hosur Line matter?
Hosur has steadily evolved as a major production base for BMW’s sub-500cc models, and that role has been strengthened with the addition of the F 450 GS. Local manufacturing is expected to streamline supplies for global markets and help BMW scale its new 450cc platform more efficiently.
What’s next for the alliance?
The two companies said they will continue to expand their joint R&D efforts, with work already underway on new platforms and future-ready technologies aimed at urban and premium mobility. He explained that the goal is to continue delivering motorcycles that combine BMW’s engineering direction with TVS Motor’s manufacturing capability.
