Malayalam film actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navs was found dead on Friday evening at a hotel in Kochi, Kochi. According to the news agency PTI, the incident took place after the hotel staff, where Kalbhavan (51) was stopping for a film shoot, alerting the authorities.
Kalabhavan was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead, PTI told the police. Police suspect that he faced cardiac arrest.
According to a report in the Hindu, the post -mortem of Kalabhavan will take place on Saturday to confirm the cause of death at Government Medical College Hospital in Kalamaseri. His body will be handed over to his family. The body of Kalabhavan is kept at SD Tata Hospital in Chennikkara.
Kalabhavan was staying in the hotel as part of the shooting of a Malayalam film Prakambanam. On Friday evening, the actor was about to check out of his room. Although not reached the reception for check-out, the hotel staff found him unconscious in his room. According to police, nothing suspect was found in his room. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan mourned his death.
Kalabhavan, a versatile entertainer, earned widespread praise as a mimicry artist, playback singer and actor in Malayalam cinema. He made his debut in 1995 as an actor in the feature film Chaithnam.
He starred in several films and television serials, including Mimic Action 500 (1995), Hitler Brothers (1997), Junior Mandrak (1997), Matupati Machan and Ammayyama (1998), Chandamma (1998) Thilana (2003).
Kalabhavan Chakar Muthu (2009), Talamayam Oru Penkutty (2011), Talamayam Oru Pencutty (2011), ABCD: American-wanted Desi (2013), John Honai (2015), were part of Shaji (2019).
He was also a judge in reality shows like Comedy Masters, Comedy Stars Season 2 and Thkarpapan Comedy. Kalabhavan was also a singer.
