Mahindra Thar Earth Edition: Mahindra & Mahindra has launched the ‘Earth Edition’ of its popular Thar SUV. The company has presented this edition in a different look for people who like adventure drives. The company has launched it in a completely different Desert Fury paint scheme. Its starting price has been fixed at Rs 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom). This variant will be available in both petrol and diesel options.
What’s new in Earth Edition?
The biggest change in the exterior of Thar is the new paint called Desert Fury, which has a satin matte finish. Most cosmetic changes have been made in this variant. It includes desert-inspired body decals, new graphics on the rear fenders and doors, silver-finished alloy wheels and square-shaped 3D ‘Earth Edition’ badges on the B-pillars. Apart from this new exterior paint, the Thar 4WD may be available in four colors which include Red Rage, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black and Everest White.
Changes in the interior
The Thar Earth Edition has a dual-tone black and beige theme on the inside. There are Dune graphics on the headrest. Apart from this, the cabin of the SUV gets Desert Fury colored inserts on the AC vents, center console and steering wheel. Additionally, each Thar Earth Edition unit will get a unique numbered decorative VIN plate starting with the serial number ‘1’.
‘Earth Edition’ will be available only in 4WD
As far as the engine is concerned, two engine options of the existing standard model have been used in it, which include 2.0-litre petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both engines are equipped with six-speed manual and torque converter automatic gearboxes. This new edition is offered only with 4WD drivetrain.
