Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray visited the house of his cousin Raj Thackeray in Mumbai on Wednesday and Maharashtra Navneman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray, which was between a coalition between the coalition between the two parties beyond the local body elections.
The latest meeting between two party heads and their leaders was held in Raj Thackeray’s residence ‘Shivtirtha’ in Dadar area of the city.
Incidentally, Maharashtra Congress leaders met Uddhav Thackeray on Monday, during which the issue of a possible alliance between Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS came to light.
Congress leaders, an ally of the Shiv Sena (UBT), then said that they would discuss the issue with their high command.
This was the second known conversation between Astraned cousin once in the last fortnight.
Uddhav visited ‘Shivtirtha’ at the end of last month on the occasion of Ganash festival.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut later told reporters that Uddhav Thackeray visited ‘Shivtirtha’ to meet Raj’s mother Kunda, who is his ‘Mavashi’ (mother’s sister), but did not stay at the political angle of the meeting.
Both Raj and Uddhav Thackeray are mother as well as ancestral cousin.
However, an MNS leader insisted that this was the first time the two leaders met their parties and its widely met to discuss the possibility of a formal alliance.
Thakerez shared a platform in Mumbai on 5 July, when the Maharashtra government has celebrated his “victory” after the Maharashtra government has returned his “victory” after the Maharashtra government’s allegations of leaving their controversial orders on the three-language formula on the three-language formula for the students of class 1 to 5 amid allegations of in Hindi in Hindi.
At the end of July, Raj visited Matoshree, the residence of Uddhav Thackeray in suburban Bandra, so that the latter was on his birthday.
Although Raj Thackeray left the undivided Shiv Sena in 2005, convicted Uddhav for his exit, his parties in the Maharashtra assembly elections in 2024 pushed rivals to improve relations and make their political place in the state.
Both parties have left sufficient signs to form an alliance for the upcoming local body elections, including the Cash-Rich Bhanambhi Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, but have not yet announced a formal tie-up.
If a tie-up takes a solid shape, a fierce critic of the Shiv Sena (UBT) will be its main rival.
Raj Thackeray has been a critic as well as a supporter of BJP in the past.
When asked about the latest meeting between thekerez, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that he has no mechanism to understand what was in the mind of the cousin.
“I didn’t meet anyone, and I don’t know what they said. I have no technique to understand what is in his mind. I don’t know anything about his meeting,” Fadnavis told reporters in Nashik.
Mumbai’s BJP chief and MLA Amit Satam demanded to reduce his importance, saying that civilian political leaders are more concerned about development than family meetings.
“It’s not about who is getting and there are relations related to their family, but it is more about who has created a redevelopment of BDD Chawl in Atal Setu, Coastal Road, Worli and neighboring areas, and who have established a huge network of CCTV cameras in Mumbai.
He said that Mumbai voters have supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the last elections, and they will continue to do so in future elections.
Defeating the development agenda of BJP -led coalition, the MLA said that the Union and State Governments have accelerated the construction of the Navi Mumbai International Airport. Citizens want this pace of development, which was never introduced by others during 25 years of rule. Just the meetings between cousins have no political value; People are more interested in who will solve their problems, the BJP leader confirmed.
BJP MLC Praveen Derekar also demanded to reduce the meeting.
“As a junior political activist, I would be happy to see two cousins coming together because Maharashtra has a history of civil discourse and align with equal ideology groups. But it’s not time to talk about their alliance,” said the derekar.
He thought that if he was chosen to align with Raj, what would be the position of Udhav Thackeray in the opposition block Maha Vikas Aghdi (MVA). Derekar said that there is no point in claiming that his alliance will bring Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS to power in BMC.
Shiv Sena minister Uday Samanta said, regardless of new alliances, Mahayuti will sweep the upcoming elections for local bodies in the state.
Samanta said that the army thinks that Raj Thackeray should join the Mahayati alliance.
He said, “However, Raj Thackeray has to decide his political future. As a great leader, I am confident that we will come to power despite all the local and urban bodies and any alliance in BMC,” he told reporters in Pune.
Amid discussion on their PAN-Maharashtra alliance, the Army (UBT) and MNS faced a shock in the election of Best Employees Cooperative Credit Society Limited last month, where the panel supported by both parties lost all 21 seats to tombs.
