Due to the flood situation affecting about 30 districts in the state, especially in the Marathwada region, some students requested the stay of the State Public Service Commission (MPSC) examination for September 28. This request is eventually fulfilled, and the MPSC exam will now be on 9 November, providing relief to flood-affected students.
Yesterday, Maharashtra Public Service Commission issued a circular rejecting the demand of students to postpone the examination, stating that the State Service Commission will be conducted as per the examination original schedule. However, the examination has now been postponed, which has given relief to the students. The State Public Service Commission has met the demands of students and all party leaders.
“To ensure that no candidate is deprived of the opportunity to appear for the exam, the government, based on its letter number Moloa-1125/PR. CR. 236/Maloa, dated 26 September, 2025, requested the Commission to request to postpone the examination.”
The flood situation has greatly disrupted the lives of thousands of students, which has severely affected their studies. Due to the disruption of the transport system, many students could not reach their examination centers. As a result, some students demanded that the examination be postponed instead of putting it on the scheduled date. Responding to its demands and all party leaders, the State Public Service Commission announced the adjournment of the examination. Many MPs and MLAs of the state also advocated to delay the MPSC examination.
When the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Minister, and other party leaders visited the areas affected by heavy rains to assess the damage, many examination candidates requested the examination. This recruitment will be held in various departments of Maharashtra State Government, covering 385 posts. About 3 lakh students will appear for the preliminary examination on November 9, 2025 in the centers of 37 districts of the state. In the preliminary examination, 3 lakh students will be seen competing for 385 posts.
