Fishing of fish lentils
Arhar dal – 1 cup
Rohu or favorite desi fish- 4-5 pieces
Onion- 1 chopped
Garlic-5-6 buds
Tomato- 1
Green Chilli- 2
Turmeric Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin- 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard oil-3 to 4 tablespoons
Salt – as per taste
Green coriander for garnishing
Fishing method
First of all wash the lentils thoroughly. Add lentils and water to the cooker and cook. Apply 3-4 whistles. Put oil in a pan and fry the pieces of fish. Clean the fish thoroughly in water. Mix chilli, turmeric, salt in it and fry it in oil. Fry it till it turns golden brown. If the oil is left in the pan, then add cumin, garlic, onion, green chillies and fry it. Add turmeric, red chili powder, chopped tomatoes and fry it. If you leave the pan, add lentils to it. Add salt as per taste and let it cook for 6-7 minutes. Now when the lentils are completely cooked, add roasted fish in it and let it cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Serve hot by putting coriander leaves chopped on top. You can eat it with bread, rice. Macher dal is a nutritious recipe rich in very tasty protein due to being lentils and fish. It is also so easy to make it that you can make and eat it anytime.
