According to news agency ANI report, police checked the bus of former Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao near Idula Parre Thanda check post in Suryapet. Meanwhile, news agency PTI reported that election officials searched the bus as part of election duty.
K.Chandrashekhar Rao was traveling in the bus during his visit to Suryapet district, about 170 km from Hyderabad.
BRS sources told PTI that Rao was visiting Suryapet as part of his tour to inspect agricultural areas, which are reportedly facing drought-like conditions.

Quoting sources, it has been told that the vehicle was checked at Edulaparre Tanda check post of the district. “KCR was talking to farmers to instill confidence in them in view of the drought-like situation they are facing,” party sources said.
Officials conducted the search ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Voting for the general elections will begin on April 19 and the results will be declared on June 4.
Voting will be held on May 13 for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, for which the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is currently in place.
On March 31, BRS posted on Twitter that “KCR inspects waterlogged crop fields in Suryapet rural area”. These agricultural areas are reportedly facing drought-like conditions.
Earlier in the day, BRS suffered another blow in Telangana when its sitting MLA and former minister Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter Kadiyam Kavya joined the Congress on Sunday, PTI reported.
“For various reasons, people are moving away from BRS. So, to serve the people and do something for the constituency, he will take a decision (on joining the Congress party),” Srihari was quoted as saying.
Kavya, who was the BRS candidate from Warangal, announced her decision to pull out citing recent allegations of corruption and phone tapping against the previous Chandrashekhar Rao-led regime.
