Indian billionaire and Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Tuesday cast his vote at a polling booth in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
After voting he displayed his inked finger to symbolize his participation in the electoral process.
Speaking to the media after casting his vote, Adani stressed the importance of voting and described it as a “festival of democracy”. He urged the public to actively participate in the voting process, highlighting its importance in shaping the future of India. “Today is the festival of democracy and I appeal to the people to come out and vote. Adani said, India is moving forward and will continue to move forward.
In a post on X, Adani shared his thoughts and posted a picture with his wife. “Proud to vote with my family today. Voting is a right, a privilege, and a responsibility that we all share as citizens of this great nation. Every vote is a powerful voice in our democracy. Cast your vote to shape the future of India. Jai Hind (sic),” Adani posted on X.
Earlier in the day, reiterating the importance of voter participation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also exercised his franchise in Ahmedabad. After voting he highlighted the importance of voting. Modi said, “I urge everyone to vote as much as possible.” Four more rounds are left.” Modi also mentioned his continued participation in the Gujarat elections, where Bharatiya Janata Party’s main candidate Amit Shah is contesting.
Voting for the third phase of the seven-phase Lok Sabha Elections 2024 began today, Tuesday, May 7, at 7 am. The third phase includes 93 Lok Sabha seats from 12 states and union territories, including Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra and Nagar. Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
This stage takes place after the first rounds on 19 and 26 April, with subsequent rounds scheduled for 13, 20, 25 May and 1 June. Counting of votes will be done on June 4.
