New Delhi [India]October 9 (ANI): Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Thursday said India’s strength lies in its roots – in the resilience of its local communities, the creativity of its entrepreneurs and the unity of its people.

The session, themed ‘Strengthening Local Roots, Driving National Development for a Developed India’, reaffirmed PHDCCI’s commitment to work closely with the Government of India in promoting inclusive, regionally balanced and innovation-driven growth that strengthens both local economies and national competitiveness. “India’s rise is directly linked to strengthening its local roots. Development at the local level is the key to national development and every part of our country is equally important and should be included in the mainstream. The true potential of 140 crore Indians will be unleashed only when every citizen is empowered. India has the talent, character and resources to become a leading global nation. While the question remains as to why we have not yet achieved fully developed status, I believe the target is Developed India to achieve – Given our current 8% growth rate amid global recession, a developed India by the centenary of our independence is not a difficult task,” the Minister further said. Rijiju said, “The remarkable progress we have made since 2014, from 10th to fourth position in terms of GDP, shows that the goal of a developed India is within our reach. While the world is currently growing below 3%, India’s annual growth of over 7% is a powerful statement of our economic resilience. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister and with the enduring confidence of our people, India is poised to become a trusted global partner and second name of the world. Opportunities.” The minister further said, “Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) is a fundamental step towards a developed India. Every Indian and every associate of PHDCCI should focus on preferring and preferring ‘Made in India’ products.” He lauded PHDCCI for 120 years of service to the industry and the nation, and said that chambers like PHDCCI play an important role in linking government policy and grassroots enterprise.
