Ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple on January 22, devotees in the city are already in work mode. Even before the consecration ceremony, Lucknowites – as well as people from other cities – have been visiting Ayodhya, while many others are making plans for after the ceremony.

Lucknow-based housewife Shikha Aggarwal went to Ayodhya with her son Yash, mother and niece. “Yash is going to America on Sunday for his final year of engineering, so we went to Ayodhya to seek blessings. Followers of the deity, we visited the city and attended a prayer ceremony at Kanak Bhavan. We saw the upcoming Ram temple from a distance and will come back in mid-February when the crowd will subside,” she says.
Printing press entrepreneur Jitendra Singh says, “I was in Ayodhya just a month ago and the city has changed. Lata Mangeshkar Chowk along with the entire road to the temple joins the list of center of attraction for the visitors. “Although it will take another two years for the temple to take shape, things are definitely going on in a big way as the inauguration approaches.”

Yoga guru Vineet Saxena believes that earlier he could not go to Ayodhya for one reason. “Imagine getting the opportunity to visit the city for the first time in your life around the consecration of the Ram temple. My brother is traveling from America with his family and we plan to visit Ayodhya on January 28.

Sales professional Jyoti Singh, who has all the plans ready, says, “My travel with family via public transport, probably by train or buses specially activated for tourists, will hopefully happen in the last week of this month.” . For the main function, a large fleet is present to meet the demand for taxis that will take visitors to Ayodhya.
“Apart from the demand for cars from the state government, we also have demand for luxury cars for the invitees between January 20-23. The travel movement has already started and after the opening of the temple we will have huge day-tour movement for the local people and visitors. We are advising travelers to plan their travel plans after February 15,” says Rajiv Arora of Rehan Travel House.
A lot of queries are coming in for accommodation in hotels in the state capital during the consecration ceremony and after the temple is opened to the public.
A tribute to the temple
Lucknow artist Pankaj Gupta, who created two artworks to commemorate the temple, will visit the temple with his 88-year-old mother at the end of the month. “I have been to this city and during my travels there have been immersed in immense spirituality, which I have brought out on my canvas with colors.”
Celebrate at home now!
The temple trust has issued an advisory not to visit till January 26. The series of programs is going to start from January 16 and the Trust has appealed not to go towards Ayodhya from January 19-26. Government officials have also asked to celebrate at their home and visit the temple town after the entire consecration ceremony is over.
