Actor Kunal Kapoor, who will next be seen in the film Ramayan, talks about creating a new path to ensure quality roles.
Actor Kunal Kapoor, who is keen to carve his own path, has brought in a writers’ room to make way for the “perfect script”. “I have seen actors, whom I respect greatly, constantly wait for the right role that never really comes. So, a writer’s room is the solution to this problem, where scripts can be created that I want to act or even produce. It’s important not to wait for the right script, because that may or may not happen,” shares Kapoor, who will next be seen in the big screen adaptation of Ramayan directed by Nitish Tiwari.

The 46-year-old further added that there have been instances where things did not go the way he wanted. “This has happened in my career. I got a project I was excited about, but it didn’t take off and then I had to spend a few years trying to get it started. We live in a time where it’s easy to develop the kind of work you want to do,” shares Kapoor.
He also believes, “As an actor, I don’t think I have made any compromises in terms of accepting roles. I only accept projects if I find the work and the people I’m working with interesting. So, I don’t think I’m doing anything just because I have to or because I have to be seen.”
