Kit Harington, who played the memorable role of Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, admits he can’t bring himself to watch the spin-off, House of the Dragon.
Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, admitted that he can’t bring himself to watch its spin-off series House of the Dragon. In an interview with the Associated Press, Kit confessed that he has “just spent so long” in Westeros that he can’t watch it anymore. What did Kit say?
“I can’t watch it. I think for me it’s just because I spent so long there. And I wish them all the best, and I hope so, I hear it’s amazing and going really well. But I don’t think I’ll ever watch that show, and I don’t think I’ll watch Game of Thrones again for a few years,” Kit said.
Kit isn’t the only Game of Thrones actor to face this problem. Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on the show, told Variety last year, “I can’t do it. It’s too weird, it’s too awkward, it’s too weird. It’s like someone is saying, ‘Do you want to go to this school reunion that’s not your year? Do you want to go back to that school reunion?’ That’s what it feels like. I’m avoiding it.”
Kit will now be seen in Season 3 of Industry.
House of the Dragon will end with season 4
HBO has announced that the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, will end with its fourth season. The show’s creator and co-creator Ryan Condal revealed the news during a press conference discussing the Season 2 finale.
Condal revealed that the show’s third season is currently being written and will begin production in early 2025. When asked about the number of episodes for Season 3, Condal said discussions are ongoing with HBO, but he expects the show’s pace to remain in line with the eight episodes of the second season.
House of the Dragon isn’t the only Game of Thrones prequel. HBO is also producing A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is based on Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg and takes place 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones.
