Seoul. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was present during the test of a new surface-to-sea missile. He warned that his country would adopt a more aggressive military stance along its disputed maritime borders with rival South Korea.

North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) has given this news a day after South Korea’s army said that North Korea has fired several cruise missiles in the waters off its northeastern coast. This is North Korea’s sixth missile test this year.

Some experts believe that Kim may try to increase pressure on him in view of the elections in South Korea and America. Concerns are increasing in South Korea about direct military provocation.

Kim inspected the testing of the missiles, calling them important weapons for his navy. He has also accused South Korea of repeatedly violating its maritime zone. He also ordered the Navy to strengthen its defenses on islands in its territorial waters near the South Korean border, where a North Korean bombing in 2010 killed four people.
