Zhang Hao opened the show with his OST Popularity Award. Lee Jung Ha and Go Eun Jung won their New Actor Award at the Blue Dragon Series event.
(stay): The main show of the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards hadn’t even started yet when ZeroBaseOne’s Zhang Hao became the first and only fifth-generation K-pop idol to win the OST Popularity Award on Friday, July 19, 2024. Despite being absent from the event, the Chinese singer who lives in South Korea received a flood of congratulatory messages online from his fans. Hao is also reportedly the first non-Korean artist to hear the victory bell at the Blue Dragon Series Awards.
This year’s prestigious ceremony, which honoured excellence in OTT television, welcomed back the iconic hosting duo of prominent personalities from the South Korean entertainment industry – Im Yoon Ah (aka Yoon A) and Jun Hyun Moo. The duo returns for the third consecutive time to raise the standards of the prestigious annual awards series, which was inaugurated in 2022.
Blue Dragon Series officials announced the celebrity nominees for more than ten award categories in June 2024. A month later, a star-studded lineup of famous actors and other creatives walked the red carpet at Paradise City in Incheon, South Korea. The preliminary event welcomed stars such as Song Hye Kyo, Jo Bo Ah, Park Bo Young, Park Ji Hoon, Choi Hyun Wook, Im Siwan, and more at 6:30 PM KST, while the main ceremony gates opened two hours later.
