Katy Perry’s outfit choices have always been eccentric, whether it’s in her edgy music videos or her equally edgy personal aesthetic. The singer and songwriter attended Spanish luxury fashion line Balenciaga’s couture show in Paris on Wednesday, June 26, and surprisingly took a big step back from the colors, patterns, and textures she usually chooses to wrap herself in. In a rare occurrence, Katy arrived at Paris’ 10-12 Avenue George V — the original location of Balenciaga’s Paris atelier since 1937 — in an all-black ensemble. However, the highlight of the look wasn’t the luxe muted vibe, but the fact that Katy was shirtless.
Katy’s statement piece was a gorgeous black, well-fitted, faux fur coat with a turned-up collar. Ripped nylon tights that faded into her pumps, a tight top that went down to her hips, and classic Balenciaga shades, which were black, completed her look. The mother of 1 proudly showed off her washboard abs, which were arguably the highlight of her chosen outfit. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Katy “wanted to look sexy, sensual, simple yet chic, and wore her nylons right above her C-section star”, expectations which she definitely met.
In fact, Katy seems to be loving the idea of dressing nude. Earlier this week she walked the ramp for the first time for the third edition of Anna Wintour’s Vogue World. At the event, held at Place Vendome in Paris in honor of the upcoming Olympic Games, Katy wore a noir Kei Ninomiya gown made of geometric but hollow leather petals and cascading tulle flowers with nothing in between.
Katy’s Paris trip was all about experimental fashion, with another look captured in the city of love. She was spotted in a red velvet one-shoulder bodycon by Balenciaga, which most notably had a long train printed on it with the lyrics from her new song, Woman’s World,
Speaking of the Balenciaga show, Katy wasn’t the only star who attended the show. Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Maya Rudolph arrived with their daughters dressed in theme. Kerry Washington, Teyana Taylor, Joey King, Lisa Rinna, Michelle Yeoh and Charli XCX were also present. Nicole looked classy in a form-fitting, short-sleeve gown with a fishtail finish.

Michelle Yeoh represented the brand’s distinctive style when she wore an oversized trench coat tied at the waist, with a short, voluminous bob and oversized sunglasses completing her look.
