Rishabh Shetty on the success of Kantara Chapter 1
Speaking to the press in New Delhi, Rishabh discussed the box office success of Kantara Chapter 1. According to PTI, he said, “We started the world of Kantara with the first film, and since then, we have explored the dynamics between nature and humans. The story is rooted in our folklore of coastal Karnataka, and we want to talk about the tribes, folklore and deity worship in our film.”
He said, “Since then the thought came to my mind that even regional can be universal. This time with this success, it has been proved once again that our film is being accepted globally.” Written, directed by Kantara and stars Rishabh in the lead role of a tribal man named Barme. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under Hombale Films. The film, which delves into the Bhuta Kola tradition, also stars Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah.
