The makers of Kangwa released a new update on Saturday evening, giving information about the worldwide numbers, two days after its release. In the poster, Surya was seen shirtless in a scene from the film, and box office numbers were also written on the poster. It read, “Mega Blockbuster 89.32 Crore. 2 days earning around the world.”
The caption of the post reads, “EPIC (fire emoticon) Epic response to #Kanguwa hits theaters with 2nd day collection of Rs 89.32 crore worldwide.”

Kanguva sees Suriya playing the role of a warrior from the past and a contemporary man in the present named Francis. Bobby also plays the role of a warrior in the past, while Disha plays his girlfriend in the present.
In an interview with PTI ahead of the film’s release, Suriya said that with Kanguva he finally got a chance to do something on a larger scale than Hollywood epics like Braveheart and The Lord of the Rings. “We love movies like ‘Braveheart’, ‘Lord of the Rings’, ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘Apocalypto’. We are mesmerized by them and have watched them many times. The idea was ‘When are we going to do that? Are there ‘movies?’
He said, “The thought came to Shiva’s mind that what would happen if we go back some 100 years… What would happen if our people lived such a life and were in a complicated situation? Let’s imagine it and in this way the whole thing comes to light. I.” ,
Kanguva was released in all South Indian languages and Hindi in 2D and 3D. An estimated budget of more than Kanguva, which cost Rs 350 crore, is produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapathy.
