JoSAA Counselling 2024: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has started the online registration process for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs through JoSAA Counselling 2024 at josaa.nic.in. Candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2024 can register for JoSAA counselling. As per the JoSAA 2024 notification, eligible candidates can fill their course, institute choice online on the official website josaa.nic.inBefore 18 June.
Pre-payment of JoSAA seat acceptance fee for successful candidates has also been started.
It is important to note that the Ministry of Education has set up JoSAA to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admission to 121 institutes across the country. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 40 other government-funded technical institutes (other-GFTIs). Through JoSAA, candidates who clear JEE Main and JEE Advanced can apply for admission to these institutes through a single platform. Based on the candidate’s course choice and the availability of seats in a particular institute, JoSAA allots seats to students.
JoSAA Counselling 2024: Important Dates
As per the official notification, JoSAA counselling 2024 will be conducted in five rounds. Candidates should take note of the important dates:
JoSAA Counselling 2024: Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have to qualify for JEE Main 2024.
- Candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced 2024 are also eligible to appear for JoSAA counselling 2024
- Candidates must have secured 75% marks in class 12 or be in the top 20 percentile.
- The qualifying percentage for admission into IITs for SC, ST and PWD candidates is 65%.
JoSAA Counselling 2024: Steps to Registration
- Visit the official website josaa.nic.in.
- Click on the “JoSAA Counselling Registration” link available on the homepage
- A new window will open; Enter JEE Main 2024/JEE Advanced 2024 application number, password and submit
- All your information will be displayed on the screen, double check the details
- Enter the required details, here you are allowed to change your address if required.
- Click on the Submit button.
Enter the engineering stream and institute from the drop box using the available options. Do not forget to lock your options after filling online. Otherwise, the system will automatically save the previously selected options.
JoSAA Counselling 2024: Fees
Seat Acceptance Fee:
Candidates will have to pay A seat acceptance fee of Rs 35,000 (which includes Rs 5,000 JoSAA processing fee) will have to be paid, which will be adjusted in the admission fee. Candidates other than the general category (SC, ST, General-PWD, General-EWS-PWD, OBC-NCL-PWD, SC-PWD or ST-PWD tag candidates) will have to pay Rs 35,000. Rs 17,500 will have to be paid as seat acceptance fee.
Candidates can pay the seat acceptance fee using Debit Card/UPI/Credit Card/Net Banking/E-Challan.
Candidates must note that non-payment of seat acceptance fee is a way of rejecting the offered/allocated seat and will be treated as rejection. In such a case, candidates will not be able to participate in the seat allotment process in further rounds.
Therefore, candidates are advised to pay the seat acceptance fee on the first day of the respective round and not wait till the last days so that their documents can be verified. This will give them enough time to properly answer the reporting officer’s queries/additional questions, if any.
Partial Admission Fee (PAF): Rs 20,000 for SC, ST, General-PWD, General-EWS-PWD, OBC-NCL-PWD, SC-PWD or ST-PWD category candidates and Rs 45,000 for all other candidates. Partial admission fee will be adjusted against the institute admission fee. Partial admission fee once paid will not be refunded.
