Jio, Airtel, Vi made recharge plans expensive, customers’ pockets will be burdened with crores of rupees – report

The country’s leading telecom companies, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have given a big shock to the customers. All three companies have announced that the prices of their plans will be increased from next week. The new plan rates of Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel will be implemented from July 3, while the new rates of Vodafone Idea will be implemented from July 4. Jio will increase the mobile recharge rates of its plans by 12 to 25%. At the same time, Airtel plan prices will see an increase of 15 to 20%. Finally, an increase of 11 to 24% has been announced in Vodafone Idea’s plans. It is obvious that if there is such an increase in the plans of all the companies, then the burden on the pockets of the customers will increase.

According to a report by ET, after the increase in all tariffs, an additional burden of Rs 47,500 crores may increase on the customers annually. The report also says that Jio customers will have to spend 46% more money than before for 5G service. Whereas for Bharti Airtel users, the expenditure is more than 71%.

The report states Goldman Sachs’ estimate that after the increase in Jio tariff plan, there is a possibility of a 17% increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). At the same time, it has been decided to increase Airtel’s mobile tariff plan by 11 to 21%. Apart from this, Vodafone and Idea have also increased their tariff plans by 10 to 23 percent.

Jio postpaid plans-
Reliance Jio said that the price of 75GB postpaid data plan will be increased from Rs 399 to Rs 449. Jio has increased the price of Rs 666 unlimited plan with 84 days validity to Rs 799.

Airtel Postpaid Plans-
Airtel’s Rs 399 plan, which offers 40GB data along with one connection and Xstream Premium subscription, has been priced at Rs 449. The Rs 499 plan, which offers 75GB data along with Xstream Premium, Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime subscription, will now cost Rs 549.
