Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have decided to end their fairytale love story, but the actor’s kids are in no mood to leave their stepmom’s side. According to an insider, Affleck is very concerned and believes that Lopez’s approach is too liberal and lacks the discipline required when raising kids. Reportedly, the two had differences over their different parenting styles during their time together.
Ben Affleck confused about JLo’s parenting style
There’s no doubt that Lopez has a strong bond with Affleck and Garner’s children, especially the eldest, Violet, with whom she has been spotted hanging out and visiting restaurants on several occasions. Sources previously revealed that Affleck finds their situation ‘difficult’ as the couple head towards divorce.
Now, a source tells InTouch Weekly that the Gone Girl star is unhappy with how much his ex-wife pampers their kids and interferes with their traditional parenting style.

“Their parenting styles have always been very different. Ben pampers her from time to time and gives her her favorite things, but J.Lo gives her a lot of gifts that no one else can afford,” the insider told the outlet.
JLo is absolutely the ‘Disneyland stepmom’
While the pop star’s soon-to-be ex-husband is very grateful for the way she embraces his family and kids and the strong bond he shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, the source says, “She’s absolutely a Disneyland stepmom. She’s always bringing something for her kids, she always knows what will make them happy and she has so much fun making them smile.”

The news comes amid reports that The Accountant 2 star is not as close with Lopez’s twins, Emme and Max, as he is with his three biological children – Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 – whom he shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Meanwhile, the ‘Jenny From the Block’ singer maintains a good relationship with each of her five kids.
Affleck is ‘grateful’ to Lopez for staying ‘close to the kids’
The ‘Atlas’ star spent time with Violet during her high school graduation. Later, Affleck’s eldest child joined him in the Hamptons, where they went shopping and dining together. During this period, the ‘Gigli’ co-stars lived separately and were months and miles apart, even on their wedding anniversary.
Now, the source says, Ben is “obviously very pleased and grateful that she has been so kind to the kids and doing everything she can to be close to them.” Although the singer’s efforts to connect with the kids are appreciated, Ben finds it somewhat ‘awkward’ as he worries it may create unrealistic expectations, the insider explained.
They believe that spoiling children too much is bad and they don’t want that to happen. Although he knows it’s difficult, Ben is adamant about making sure his kids get the right mix of love and rules.
