NTA has concluded JEE Main 2024 Shift 2 held on April 5, 2024, which started at 3 pm and ended at 6 pm.
Check out the detailed analysis by Ajay Kumar Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited and Ramesh Batlish, Head, FIITJEE Noida Centre.
Chemistry Analysis:
“Compared to JEE Main Phase-I, here more number of questions were asked from Physical Chemistry. Most of the questions were from Inorganic Chemistry part. 3-4 questions were asked from Electrochemistry chapter. Questions were asked from major chapters like d-block elements, coordination compounds, biomolecules, p-block and aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids. The overall coverage of the chapters was uniform. In class 11th and 12th, more number of questions are asked from class 12th syllabus. The paper was overall based on NCERT books. However, there were 4-5 confusing questions in the paper,” says Ajay Kumar Sharma.
“Easy to moderate. Inorganic and organic chemistry were more important than physical chemistry. Questions were asked from GOC, Alcohols, Ethers and Phenols, Amines, Aldehydes and Ketones, Biomolecules, Aryl and Alkyl Halides Mixed Concept Questions, Questions from Physical Chemistry to Chemical Kinetics, Electrochemistry and Chemical Equilibrium. In Inorganic Chemistry there were questions from coordination compounds, d and f-block elements and chemical bonding. Some fact-based questions from NCERT were asked which made it easier for the students. Ramesh Batlish says.
Physics Analysis:
“Physics section was very easy as reported by a large number of students. There were a good number of questions from Current Electricity in the paper,” says Ajay Kumar Sharma.
“Easy. Questions asked from almost all the chapters. Some from the chapters of Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, SHM and Waves, Temperature and Thermodynamics, Rotational Motion, Wave Optics, Current Electric, Electromagnetic Induction, Modern Physics, Atoms and Nucleus. Good questions. Numerical based questions were easy. Physics was balanced and easy,” says Ramesh Batlish.
Mathematical Analysis:
“The mathematics paper was of moderate to difficult level. A large number of questions were asked from Vector, 3D and Calculus. Questions from Calculus part were not that difficult while there were some good questions from Conics section. The paper covered Complex Numbers and Matrices and Determinants. Almost all topics covered. The main thing is that the questions were both long and tricky which took a lot of time to solve,” said Ajay Kumar Sharma.
“Moderately difficult. Importance was given to chapters of Algebra and Calculus. Questions on circle, parabola and hyperbola with mixed concept questions in coordinate geometry,” says Ramesh Batlish.
