Actually, everyone waits for Jashn-e-Rekhta, the world’s biggest gathering in Urdu literature and this time it is a little earlier i.e. it is starting in the very early evenings of December. The specialty of this time is that on the very first day you will get to enjoy the sweet words of the great magician of words, Gulzar Sahab. This evening, you will get a chance to be immersed in the soulful voices of Chal Chaiya Chaiya fame Sukhwinder Singh.
We all know that Jashn-e-Rekhta is not only the world’s biggest platform for Urdu poetry but has now become a symbol of our culture and common heritage. This year Jashn-e-Rekhta is celebrating its 10th Jalsa. Jashn-e-Rekhta has become the biggest festival for the young generation. More than one lakh people are present here every day. Here, the country’s famous magicians of words add warmth to the cold pink night with their fun, tune and melodious voice. This is not just a gathering but a river of emotions, where love is hidden in every couplet, a magical combination of concern and fun goes on. In the slow cold winds of December, the warm nature of words provides a different kind of spiritual solace. In this gathering of words, your heart will find peace and your mind will get medicine. Jashn-e-Rekhta creates warmth in both body and soul.
This time Jashn-e-Rekhta is in the first weekend of December. Jashn-e-Rekhta will be inaugurated on 5th December 2025 by the magician of words Gulzar. That evening the gathering will be adorned with the melodious voice of Sukhwinder Singh. The main event will take place on 6 and 7 December 2025. In this, more than 300 artists and more than 35 sessions will be held on five platforms. 2025 The place of Jashn-e-Rekhta has also changed this time. This time, the 10th Jalla of Jashn-e-Rekhta will be celebrated in the new Ashiana Bansera Park near Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi in which poets, writers, musicians and cultural personalities from India and around the world will participate.
What will happen in special gatherings
You must be aware that many gatherings take place simultaneously during Jashn-e-Rekhta. Different gatherings of different personalities will be organized in Mehfil Khana, Dayar-e-Izhar, Sukhan Zaar, Bazm-e-Khayal and Aiwan-e-Zayaka. Each stage will give the experience of its own kind of creativity. Sanjeev Saraf, founder of Rekhta Foundation, has described Jashn-e-Rekhta as a celebration of the people. Every year this festival is expanding rapidly. This festival is not only included in the choice of experts of Urdu language but it has also become a habit of today’s youth which gives them every colorful spiritual solace.
Special events of Rekhta 2025
Rekhta Foundation has made special arrangements on the tenth anniversary of Rekhta. In this, the emotions, character and color of Urdu will be presented in a unique style. Rekhta will start with poetry with Gulzar Sahab where delicate conversations about love, separation and life will be done. There will be an energetic concert of Sukhwinder Singh in Rang-e-Mousiki. The music and accompaniment will include the heart touching tunes and compositions of Salim-Sulaiman. A special edition dedicated to Sahir Ludhianvi in Dil Abhi Bhara Nahi edition, featuring Javed Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan and Pratibha Singh Baghel. Famous poets-lyricists from all over the world will participate in Rekhta Mushaira and Rooh-e-Majrooh. Apart from this programme, there are many things like Rekhta Books Bazaar, Rekhta Bazaar in which there will be exhibition of crafts, costumes and cultural items. There will also be a captivating confluence of lights, music and poetry at Rekhta Pavilion and Light and Sound Show at Bansera on Yamuna Ghat. Bansera Park is newly built in Delhi and it is fast becoming the first choice of the youth.
