Actor Ashutosh Rana has diversity in his career, which has entered various fields including acting, voiceover work, authorization and production. In a clear conversation with Hindustan Times, Ashutosh shared his ideas on potentially entering politics, as well as recently returned to his dramatic roots with playing in his dramatic roots.
On their political aspirations
When asked about a possible forest in politics, the Ashutosh was directly and clear in his response.
“We are all in politics because we are part of a democracy. We all have the right to vote, which means that every person is part of the political world,” Ashutosh tells us in Hindi.
The actor continues, “The only difference is that some people reach Parliament and some people are part of the entire political system from the road …” Today, I believe that we need many more people to raise awareness on the streets. He emphasized that not everyone can be a part of Parliament. The actor said, “I am a part of more than 175 crore people in the country. Also, I am talking about my current situation because I do not believe in making any plans for the future.”
The actor says, “I am not planning anything and leave it to God. I believe in the truth of this moment.”
On joining the theater again
Ashotosh, who is known for his roles in projects such as enemy, Sanghash and Pagglat, recently returned to theater after 24 years. He plays the role of Ravana, in which The Playm Ram, which is presented by Felicity Theater. He was recently in Delhi to play, and is not traveling to cities like Kolkata, Rajkot and Ahmedabad with the play.
Talking about going back to the theater, Ashutosh mentioned, “Theater is our home ground. A place where my acting journey began”.
The actor said, “I came back to the theater after 2000. The peace and comfort that an actor gets while performing in the theater can not be matched with anything …. It is really special. We communicate with the audience and join while performing on the stage,” the actor said, who started his journey with the National School Drama.
Asked why he stayed away for so long, Ashutosh mentioned that he was waiting for the right time and the right role. “I aspires to take the theater to the next level and it was done through this drama when it is a big story. We had to reflect grandeur, and the stage, which we were able to do with the drama. Blessed to feel that I got it, which was worth waiting,” he wrapped.
