Amidst the quest to raise the bar while maintaining a stable academic graph, Delhi University (DU) students are facing internal exams while multi-tasking for the college fest. The long festival season coupled with examination fever has created a puzzle in the lives of the youth. “Our festival is being organized for the first time after the pandemic stopped, and the situation is similar in some other colleges,” says Priya Sharma, a final-year BA (Hons.) English student at Kirori Mal College. and adds, “Hopefully, this is the last time we’ll face this confrontation as it’s too hot to enjoy any festivities in May!”

Talking about the pressure of juggling two equally important aspects of college life, Prabha Jha, a second-year BA (Hons) Political Science student at Miranda House, shares, “When I attend the Hindu College Utsav Mecca, When it was happening, my excitement increased. Was surrounded by internal tension. I remember I kept updating and checking my study schedule because it seemed never ending! But at the same time, I’m also excited about Ramjas’s Mosaic tonight.”

For Sanyam Yadav, a first-year BSc (Hons) Mathematics student at Ramjas College, the difficult decision involved temporarily prioritizing his commitment to his college dance society. He shared, “Our celebration is here, and I can’t let my peers in the dance society down! For now, I have put all my assignments and test preparation on the back burner. Once the festivities are over, real life will begin. Then we will see what to do.

Nikita, a first-year B.Com (Hons.) student at Shri Ram College of Commerce and a member of the organizing team of the college’s cultural fest, Crossroads, puts her chin up and does her best, saying, “Thanks to both the academics and the core team. Managing duties can be a difficult task. For the past few weeks, I’ve been waking up early to focus on my submissions and revisions. I do this because I know, once I reach my college, I will have to dedicate all my time to preparing for the festival.

This is no joke for young guns who have to accomplish multiple tasks at the same time. Take Jaibir Singh Brar, for example, who has eight submissions this week! “Teamwork provides a great solution,” says the second-year BA (Hons) Political Science student at Hindu College. He added, “Half of my assignments were group projects, so we divided the work among us and each took responsibility for one assignment.” , Now we will have to do the same.”
