What will happen after doing MBBS from abroad?
Students returning from abroad after completing MBBS have to appear for the Foreign Medical Graduate (FMGE) exam to practice medicine in India. Only those who pass this exam are allowed to practice medicine here. This exam is also called the Medical Council of India Screening Test. The FMGE exam is organized by the National Board of Examination in Medical Services (NBE). This exam is conducted twice a year, in June and December.

Internship Compulsory in India
After getting a degree from abroad, students will have to pass the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE). They will also have to do a one-year internship in India. Recently, the Delhi High Court had also issued a notice in this regard, which said that students coming to India after doing medical courses from abroad will have to do an internship of at least 12 months in their country as well. This order was given on the petition of those students who returned from Ukraine, in which Indian students had demanded to continue their studies in the country. For this, an application was filed in the Delhi High Court.
