At a time when India is in war with Pakistan, the country is united. While many persons like him increased help during the crisis, the kind groups were also active in the most affected areas such as Ponch and Rajouri. 30-year-old engineer Khushboo Shah, who runs a group called Helping Hands, said, “Heavy firing was done on last night (8 May), and people were asked to evacuate quickly. While some went to their relatives, others needed help with housing. Our groups of 10–15 people are helping in Stay, Travel, Food and other necessary support.”
In addition, Sunni Students Federation, in association with local authorities, have established several camps in hospitals and are urging people to donate blood. “Many people are getting injured, and to ensure that we are ready, we are requesting blood donation. We have set up camps in Poonch, Mandi, Jammu, Rajouri and other parts, and people are changing in large numbers,” says Farid Ahmed, a national secret member of the Federation.
