Some trains going to and coming from the north have been cancelled, some have reduced frequency and some have diverted their routes. Now thousands of passengers are facing problems. Two trains running from Barmer in Rajasthan have also been affected by this.
The impact of the farmers’ agitation in Punjab is being continuously seen on the railways. Due to the farmers’ agitation, many trains have been cancelled for a long time and the routes of many trains have been changed. Due to the farmers’ agitation, rail traffic on the Ambala division of Northern Railway will be affected in the next three days. Two trains running from Barmer will also be partially cancelled from 29 April to 01 May.
Barmer-Jammutvi now till Delhi
According to Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, due to the farmers’ agitation, train number 14661 Barmer-Jammutvi running from Barmer will run only till Delhi from 29 April to 01 May. It will remain cancelled after Delhi till Jammu Tawi. Similarly, train number 14662 Jammu Tawi-Barmer rail service will be run from Delhi instead of Jammu Tawi from 29 April to 01 May.
Rishikesh- Barmer will no longer go to Haridwar
Train number 14887 Rishikesh-Barmer train service will run only till Bathinda from 29 April to 01 May. That is, this train will neither go to Rishikesh nor come from Rishikesh. Similarly, train number 14888 Barmer-Rishikesh running from Barmer will run only till Bathinda from 29 April to 01 May. It will not go to Rishikesh.
Passengers going to Haridwar are troubled
Many people travel to Haridwar daily by Barmer-Rishikesh Express train. Many people go for bathing in Ganga. A large number of people also go to Haridwar by this train for immersion of ashes. Now, as the train is running only till Bathinda, it has become a big problem for the passengers going to Haridwar. Passengers are having to look for other means to reach Haridwar. Due to the agitation for the last several days, the Barmer-Rishikesh train is being run only till Bathinda.
