Delhi IGI Airport: Every day, someone or the other tries to fulfill his plans by considering all the agencies deployed for airport security as foolish. Once again a similar case has come to light from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.
But, once again due to the vigilance of the security agencies, the ingenuity of this passenger of Bangladesh origin went to waste. The security agencies easily foiled the nefarious plans and brought the accused of foreign origin to his rightful place.
Secret worth lakhs revealed from the socks of ‘chatur’
In fact, this time in a matter related to Customs’ Air Intelligence Unit (AIU), the passenger’s cleverness turned out to be foolishness for him. He took the help of socks to hide his secret. He felt that the customs officers would not notice his socks.
But this did not happen. During the search at IGI Airport, the first thing the customs officers put their hands on was the socks of this ‘clever’. Four oval shaped capsules were recovered from inside the passenger’s socks. All the capsules were filled with yellow colored paste.
The accused had brought a ‘special gift’ from Dubai
According to a senior customs officer, the yellow colored paste recovered from the socks was gold paste. The weight of this gold paste was about 1259 grams, from which about 1101 grams of gold was extracted. The price of this gold has been estimated at Rs 81.76 lakh.
He said that the arrested passenger is originally a citizen of Bangladesh. He reached IGI Airport by Indigo Airlines flight 6E-1464 coming from Dubai. This passenger has been arrested under the Custom Act. The investigation of the matter is ongoing.
