IGI Airport: A lady who reached Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport for a foreign trip forgot to take out her ‘personal’ belongings from her purse at home. When the madam’s purse was x-ray screened at IGI Airport, the CISF officer was shocked to see the picture in the screener. Because of this personal belonging, this lady not only had to face a lot of embarrassment at the airport, but she was also handed over to the IGI Airport Police for arrest. The Airport Police Station arrested this lady under the relevant sections.
According to a senior officer associated with IGI Airport Security, the arrested female passenger is a resident of the eastern region. She was to leave for a foreign trip from Terminal 3 of IGI Airport by Spice Jet flight SG-05 bound for Dubai. After completing the check-in and Bureau of Immigration process at around 4.40 pm, she reached Axis No. 2 for pre-embarkation security check. During the X-ray of this lady’s hand bag, CISF screener Sub Inspector Prashant Kumar saw such a picture that his eyes were wide open.
When she realized her mistake, she started apologizing with embarrassment
He told that after seeing this image, SI Prashant Kumar asked the lady officer present on the spot to search the purse of this madam. During the search, the same thing was found which was seen in the X-ray image. Madam was stunned to see the stuff in the purse. She could not realize her mistake. Feeling very embarrassed, she started apologizing to CISF for this stuff. But, by now the matter had gone too far. CISF sub-inspector Prashant Kumar, bound by rules, handed over the madam along with this stuff to the airport police.
Action taken against female passenger under BCAS rules
On the other hand, IGI Airport police station registered an FIR against Madam on CISF’s complaint and arrested her. However, after initial interrogation, Madam got bail from the police station. Let us tell you here that CISF sub-inspector Prashant Kumar recovered a live cartridge from Madam’s bag. As per the rules of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, no passenger can travel by air with cartridges. Strict action is taken against passengers caught trying to do so by registering an FIR under Section 25 of the Arms Act.
