New Delhi. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is going to launch its first electric scooter in the Indian market. According to media reports, the company can launch it on 27th November. This first electric scooter of the company can be the electric version of Activa “E-Activa”. Honda’s launch invitation has slogans like “What’s Ahead” and “Lightning Bolt”, which point towards its electric model.
Honda says that this electric scooter will be equal to Activa 110 in terms of power and will give a range of about 100 kilometers on a single charge. The option of swappable battery will also be given in the scooter. The concept of this electric scooter was recently shown at the EICMA auto show held in Milan, Italy. After launch, it will compete with electric scooters like TVS i-Cube, Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1.
Scooter will be available in three colors
The design of e-Activa will be similar to that of a traditional scooter. In this, the headlight is given on the front panel, whereas in the petrol Activa model, the headlight is on the handlebar. This electric scooter will be available in three colors – Pearl Jubilee White, Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Premium Silver Metallic.
Suspension and braking system
This electric scooter of Honda has a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorber at the rear. The scooter will have a setup of 190mm disc at the front and 110mm drum brake at the rear. It has 12-inch alloy wheels, along with a wheelbase of 1,310 mm, seat height of 765 mm and ground clearance of 270 mm.
How much drive range will you get?
According to media reports, this Honda electric scooter can get a mid-mounted electric motor with 6kW power. The scooter will have three riding modes – Standard, Sport and Econ. It will also have reverse mode along with physical keys. For power, two removable batteries of 1.3kWh have been provided, which will give a range of 100 km on full charge and the top speed will be 80kmph. It will take 3 hours to charge from 0 to 75% and 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100% with a standard charger.
LED lighting and USB-C charging
Talking about the features, this electric scooter has two different TFT consoles. The standard variant will have a 5-inch instrument console, while the RoadSync Duo variant will have a 7-inch TFT console. It will have smart features like navigation, call/SMS alerts and music control with Bluetooth connectivity. It will also have all-LED lighting setup and USB-C charging port.
