The subcompact sedan segment which was one of the most popular segments in India has lost its attraction with the increasing popularity of SUVs. However, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, one of the most popular models in the segment, aims to bring back the lost charm in the segment with its fourth generation avatar. The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire is set for launch on November 11, with several changes to the exterior and interior along with upgraded feature list and safety credentials.
The 2024 Dezire is different from the older generation model in almost every aspect, right from its design. While the previous generations of Maruti Suzuki Dezire were often described as ‘Swift with a boot slapped on’, with the new model, Maruti Suzuki has taken a completely different approach. The 2024 Dzire does not share any design elements with the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift. With the new model, the ‘Dezire’ has become a standalone product for the company, at least in terms of design.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire: Design
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire debuts with a refreshed front design that brings a more modern, sleek look. The new rectangular LED headlamps are paired with an updated bumper and seven-slat grille, which is finished with a chrome strip that makes it look premium compared to the model it replaces.
At the rear, the Dzire gets a redesigned bumper and updated tail lamps, with the chrome strip now replaced to complement the new lighting system. The side profile, though similar to the old model, gets a flatter design with a new set of 15-inch alloy wheels.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire: Interior
The cabin of 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire has also been given a new update. However, unlike the exterior design, the cabin of the 2024 Dezire shares the same dashboard layout as the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift. It now features an analog instrument cluster with a convenient MID screen in the middle. The biggest upgrade is the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

One notable addition is the electric sunroof, which makes its debut in this segment. Inside, the Dzire also offers automatic climate control, rear AC vents and rear armrest with cup holders. The 2024 Dezire gets dual charging ports at the back and a wireless charger at the front.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire: Safety
Safety is one major area where the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire stands out from the rest of the company’s lineup. The 2024 Dezire has become the first Maruti to receive a five-star crash test safety rating by global safety watchdog Global NCAP. The 2024 Dezire comes with several other safety-related highlights like electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD and a 360-degree camera in addition to six airbags as standard.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire: Engine
After its debut with the 2024 Swift, the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire will be the second model to feature the Z-series petrol engine from the brand. The 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine in the 2024 Dezire produces 80 bhp and 111Nm of torque.
Like the Swift, the Dzire also gets the option of a five-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic manual transmission with the new engine. The company claims that with manual transmission the Dezire will give a mileage of 24.79 kmpl while with AMT it will give a mileage of 25.71 kmpl.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire: Expected price
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dezire comes with a number of changes expected in a generational upgrade of a product. While the new sub compact sedan has a number of premium features, it also gets solid safety credentials, as proven by the recent GNCAP test results. With all those updates, the 2024 Dzire is expected to be priced at a slight premium compared to the current generation model. While the current Dezire is priced between 6.57 lakh more ₹ 9.39 lakh, ex-showroom, expected starting price of 2024 Dezire 7 lakh, ex-showroom.
