The Delhi High Court on April 8 dismissed a plea by several candidates seeking directions to postpone the Chartered Accountants (CA) inter and final examinations till June. A petition was filed by 27 candidates to reschedule the exams in June as it clashes with the Lok Sabha elections 2024. bar and bench informed of.
Dismissing the petition, a bench of Justice C. Hari Shankar asked the petitioning candidates, “Is there any law which says that no examination can be held during the Lok Sabha elections?” The petition further said that transport and other issues which May arise till the scheduled dates of Lok Sabha elections.
A single bench of Justice C Hari Shankar said the mere fact that candidates may face difficulty in taking the exam cannot be a ground to derail the exam, which is to be given by around 4,26,000 candidates.

ICAI CA 2024 May Exam Schedule
Earlier in March, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) had announced the new revised dates amid the Lok Sabha elections, however, only the dates of the examinations were reshuffled.
As per the revised schedule of ICAI, Group 1 Inter exams were changed from May 3, 5 and 7 to May 3, 5 and 9. CA Inter Group II exams were changed from May 9, 11 and 13 to May 11, 15, 17.
The new dates for CA final May exams for Group I were changed to May 2, 4 and 8 instead of May 2, 4 and 6, while the dates for Group II final exams were changed from May 8, 10, 12 to May 10. . 14 and 16 May. ICAI also released news dates for International Taxation – Valuation Test or INTT-AT exam. The examinations will now be held on 14th and 16th May.
