The 10-episode first season of ‘House of the Dragon’ aired from August 21 to October 23, 2022. It was renewed for season 2 just one week after its series premiere, which garnered record-breaking ratings for HBO, Variety reported.
The Hindustan Times review of episode one reads, “Filled with unimaginable scenes of violence, pain, suffering and torture, Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon has learned all the wrong lessons from its predecessor. There are the usual voyeuristic brothel scenes, the women usually walk around completely naked for very short periods of time and their torture is shown in such vivid detail, it might make you choke up a bit. Of course, my past self would have embraced this as absolutely great, first-rate television, but the me that I am now has seen far better shows about women’s suffering, succession dramas, and epic fantasy, so that’s easy to come by. Can be passed from.
