Any one can earn PhD if they complete their degree and postgraduate studies, pass hard entrance exams, and qualify at the top. However, a young woman who studied at home instead of going to school got a chance to chase PhD directly after solving a mathematical principle that was a mystery for 40 years. Seventeen -year -old Hannah Cairo of Bahamas achieved this remarkable feat.
Hannah estimated a long -term problem in mathematics within the scope of Mizohata -Tacuchi Estimates, Hormonic Analysis, which studies how waves behave on curved surfaces. Many mathematicians tried to solve it over the years, but Hannah proved it wrong and provided a clear example to display it.
Born in the Bahamas and homescools by his parents, who encouraged him to be depths in subjects of interest, Hannah chose mathematics. By the age of 11, she mastered calculus and went to study university level topics such as linear algebra, difference equation and topology. He read books, took online classes, and sometimes tuitioning.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, Hannah Chicago Math Circle joined the online, where it was associated with more advanced problems than typical schoolwork. This introduced them to the questions and ideas with which professional mathematicians were struggling with.
At the age of 14, Hannah applied to the Berkeley Math Circle Summer Program, stating that he had already covered advanced graduate mathematics courses on his application – a true claim. His application was accepted, allowing him to attend Berkeley’s concurrent enrollment program and take university level classes with graduate students, while all are still officially in school.

He developed waves that expanded instead of intersection. After a thorough testing, his example showed that the predictions of estimates were completely incorrect.
In February, Hannah published his research paper on Arxiv. Some experts were surprised and congratulated, while others used to suspect, questioned how such a person could achieve such a feat. As a result, Hannah was offered a place in Maryland’s PhD program in mathematics, requiring a high school diploma or college degree.
