Heavenly Delusion, Oishi no Ko and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 were the clear standout winners at this year’s fan-voted 10th Anime Trending Awards. Voting polls for the event kicked off on February 8 as otakus waited with bated breath to see how well their favorite titles had performed last year. As always, ATA is a grand platform for international anime fans to cheer for some of the best releases coming out of the niche craze of Japanese animation. The tenth edition of the anticipated ceremony was live-streamed on the AniTrendz website and its social media platforms on March 10 at 11am JST. The 2024 Oscars may have overshadowed this spectacular annual show, but the ATAs have by no means been forgotten. The announcement of winners comes just in time for anime writer Hayao Miyazaki’s historic success with The Boy and the Heron, earning him his second Oscar win.
Anime fans have a lot to celebrate (but also to mourn), especially with the Anime Trending Awards just a week after the Crunchyroll Anime Awards craze. While the names of the winners from the previous event were still being sung, the most recent awards show has sparked even more excitement. Unlike the Crunchyroll global event, the fans’ choice awarded Heavenly Delusion the biggest win, surpassing Jujutsu Kaisen’s fame. Nevertheless, MAPPA Studio anime also did not bow to defeat; This led to Oishi no Ko’s many wins on the big day, as well as several other Aspect Award categories.
