Hearing on Celina Jaitley’s petition held in High Court, Foreign Ministry received instructions, actress expressed happiness

Mumbai Retired Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitley, brother of former Miss India and actress Celina Jaitley, is in custody in the UAE. Celina is trying to bring her brother back to India. Celina’s brother has been kept in UAE from 6 September 2024. He was not able to have any contact with Vikrant for the last 15 months, but the hearing held in Delhi High Court on Thursday gave him great relief, about which he posted on social media and called it a ray of hope.

Celina wrote an emotional post on Instagram saying that her petition was heard. The Ministry of External Affairs filed its status report in the court and has appointed a nodal officer to help reach Vikrant. Celina wrote, “Mom and Dad… I am trying my best! I have not spoken to Vikrant for the last 15 months.”

Celina Jaitley further wrote, “Today there was a ray of hope. Thank you Universe! My brother, retired Major Vikrant Kumar Jaitley, has been kidnapped in UAE since 6 September 2024. My petition for his safety and to reach him was heard by the Delhi High Court. The Ministry of External Affairs filed its status report and appointed a nodal officer to help me reach my brother. Till now I I have not been able to talk to Vikrant, but Chetan Sharma, Additional Solicitor General and senior lawyer of the Government of India, assured the court that he will try his best to get me to talk to Vikrant soon.”

Celina Jaitley expressed gratitude towards the court, ASG Chetan Sharma and her lawyer Raghav Kakkar. She wrote, “The Honorable Judge gave clear instructions to the Ministry of External Affairs to provide all possible help in getting me to talk to my brother and to reach him. I am grateful to the court, ASG Saheb and all the people, who understood the plight of me and the entire family. Respected the service of four generations of our family in the Indian Army. The next hearing will be on December 23. I am looking forward to the future with hope.”

Celina Jaitley will not be able to answer media questions

Celina Jaitley also wrote, “At present I will not be able to answer any questions from the media or press. Please all of you contact my lawyer Raghav Kakkar. In this difficult time, he is fighting my entire case and helping me.”
