Solapur: There are many historical places in Solapur district. One of them is Hattarsang Kudal at the confluence of Bhima and Seena rivers in South Solapur taluk of Solapur district. This place is 40 km from Solapur on the Vijaypur National Highway on the border of Maharashtra and Karnataka. Hattarsang Kudal, a religious tourist destination
Hattarsang Kudal is famous for religious tourism and nature tourism. There are two ancient temples at this place named Sri Sangameshwar Temple and Harihareshwar Temple. Apart from this, Hattarsang Kudal is famous for its multi-faceted Shivalinga, original inscriptions in Marathi and unique architecture, sculpture and idol work. Tourists and devotees come here in large numbers for religious tourism as well as nature tourism.
Sri Sangameshwara Temple was built during the Chalukya period
Sri Sangameshwar Temple is built at the confluence of two rivers Bhima and Sina in Hattarsang Kudal. This temple is of the Chalukya period and is a trikuta or three garbhaar temple. There is a Shiv Linga in the sanctum sanctorum and the statue of Murlidhar Sri Krishna is in the right sanctum sanctorum. The statue of Lord Ganesha is installed in the Devkoshtha in the space between the two sanctum sanctorums. On the roof of the Swarga Mandap there are wonderful and attractive statues of Swarga Sundari, Gandharva, Kinnar, Yaksha, Vidyadhar, Bharbhakar and various animals and birds. In the Swarga Mandap itself there is a grand statue of Shiva in the form of Kalbhairavnath.
