Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Hardeep Singh Puri on Thursday devised a political ‘math’ to prove the saffron camp’s ‘cross 400’ claim amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024. The former diplomat said the BJP will definitely win “356-357 seats” alone and form the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government for the third consecutive time.
in an interview with Indian ExpressMinister Hardeep Puri revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s claim that the NDA would win more than 400 seats was based on the arithmetic that the minister has followed since its victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
When Puri was asked why the BJP was demanding “cross 400” this time, the Union minister said that before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had asked him to “do a detailed analysis of central schemes and beneficiaries”. Had asked for. ,
On doing so, Hardeep Puri concluded that there were “22 crore” beneficiaries. The BJP leader says, “And do you know how many votes we got (in 2019)? 22 crore!”
“The number of beneficiaries is going to be much higher. I am using the figure of 33 crore (beneficiaries). I am confident that our number alone will increase by more than 15 per cent, i.e. 356-357 seats…” Hardeep Singh Puri Told these things to the daily newspaper during an interview.
Earlier this week, Hardeep Singh Puri had claimed that India will become a developed economy in the next 10-15 years, “well ahead of the 2047 target”.
“When Narendra Modi became Prime Minister in 2014, the country was the world’s 10th largest economy and is now the fifth largest. In the next two years, it will overtake Germany to become the world’s third largest economy. Japan,” he said.
The minister also talked about angry farmers in Punjab and the ‘positive response’ from West Bengal, Punjab and the southern plains, dismissing the notion that India is losing its grip in the southern states.
Hardeep Puri was declared one of the 40-star campaigners of the BJP for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
