Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is running against time, just to go with 10 days, as long as his much awaited show Gandhi’s World Premier Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) starred. However, the team is facing a major obstacle – they still have not received their Canada visa.
The filmmaker has taken help on social media, which is expected to solve the issue before the big incident.
Hansal Mehta sends a petition
On Wednesday, Hansal took to the Toronto International Film Festival to share his ordinance before his Gandhi’s Scheduled World Premier, to X, known as Twitter in the east. He asked people to help him.
Hansal wrote in his post, “Can anyone help with a visa at the Canadian High Commission in Delhi? We are 10 days away from our world premiere in Tiff2025 and there is no sign of our visa. It is about 3 weeks when we have sent our passports.”
Earlier this month, Hansal shared a major update about his upcoming series Gandhi, in which Pratik Gandhi acted in the title role. This year, its 50th edition will premiere the project at Toronto International Film Festival. It is also the first Indian series to be selected in Tiff’s prestigious Primatime Slate.
Hansal wrote, “A daring dream, belief and strongly born, is now a step on the world stage. Gandhi’s Toronto International Film Festival will be its own world premiere in 2025, which is part of its careful curated primetime slate.
