After buying the vehicle, one has to wait for several days for the RC. Delay is occurring due to negligence of automobile dealers. Now the government has given strict instructions to issue RC on time.
New Delhi. The Delhi government has now taken seriously the complaints of delay in getting registration certificates (RC) of new vehicles. The Transport Department has issued new guidelines to improve the entire process so that customers get the RC on time. The aim of this step is to make the registration process fast and transparent, so that customers can get the registration certificates of their vehicles without any delay.
Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot also received complaints of delay. After this, he directed the department to take action. Departmental investigation revealed that many dealers had hired a single person for data entry, due to which the workload increased and the registration process was getting delayed.

A special employee will have to be hired to make RC
Transport department officials said that instructions have been given to those automobile dealers who can issue registration certificates themselves. These dealers will have to appoint dedicated staff to enter the buyers’ information on the centralized vehicle portal (VAHAN). They will also have to ensure that their printing machines are in working condition at all times.
Records of employees must be maintained
To ensure that people buying new vehicles receive RCs on time, the Transport Department has directed district officials to record Aadhaar-related credentials of data entry personnel appointed by all dealers. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has been asked to implement an Aadhaar-based login system so that a single person cannot do data entry work for multiple dealers.
Aadhar card is not from Delhi, still RC will be made
Delhi Transport Department had issued an order a few days ago that now vehicles can be registered in Delhi even if the Aadhar card is from outside Delhi. Those registering the vehicle can give two addresses. One of these will be the permanent address of the applicant and the other will be the current address. The RC of the registered vehicle will be sent to the current address only. Transport Department officials said that if the Aadhar card is from outside Delhi, then registration will be done only if there are some necessary documents related to Delhi.
