New Delhi. If you live in Delhi and want to renew your vehicle’s pollution certificate (PUC), then now you will have to pay more money. According to an order, the PUC fee has been increased by 40 percent based on the fuel type of the vehicle. Let us tell you that this increase in PUC fee in Delhi has been done after 13 years.
According to the new rules, the PUC fee for two-wheelers and three-wheelers running on petrol, CNG, LPG in Delhi has increased from Rs 60 to Rs 80. At the same time, the fee for four-wheelers running on these fuels has increased from Rs 80 to Rs 110. Diesel vehicle drivers will now have to pay Rs 140 instead of Rs 100 for PUC.
Delhi government issued order
The Delhi government said in a notice that the new prices will come into effect as soon as they are officially notified by the government. However, if your PUC is pending then this is the right time to get it renewed. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said that this increase matches the Delhi government’s aim to maintain air quality and ensure that all vehicles meet pollution standards.
Gehlot said that this increase has been made keeping in mind the increasing cost of pollution testing services. Let us tell you that the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association had been demanding an increase in the fee for a long time. There was no change in the PUC fee in Delhi since 2011.
