Kalki 2898 AD
After a blockbuster performance at the box office, Nag Ashwin’s blockbuster dystopian science-fiction epic, starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead, has finally arrived on OTT. It is streaming on both Netflix India and Prime Video India.
The film blends Indian mythology with the futuristic world of science-fiction, telling the story of a bounty hunter Bhairava (Prabhas) who travels to the dark future of 2898 AD.

After a box office smash, Tamil action thriller ‘Raayan’ will release on Prime Video this Friday (August 23). The film traces the journey of a common man who sets out to avenge the brutal murders of his family. The quest for justice takes him into the dangerous world of the underworld, where the story progresses. It stars Dhanush, SJ Suryah and Prakash Raj in the lead roles.

The series takes an unfiltered look at the life of social media star Urfi Javed. The unscripted reality series follows Urfi’s life: her interactions with the paparazzi, her family life, her relationship with her sisters, and her unfiltered thoughts. The nine-episode series aims to give a glimpse into the life of Urfi, who gained popularity for her bold fashion choices. It will stream on Prime Video from August 23.
Pachinko Season 2
The much-anticipated second season of the historical drama Pachinko will return to Apple TV+ on August 23. Based on Min Jin Lee’s 2017 novel of the same name, the series chronicles the life of a Korean family from 1915 to 1989. The first season was released in March last year and consisted of eight episodes. The second season trailer showed the reunion of Koh Hansu and Sunja in Osaka during World War II. The two characters were separated for two decades.
Frog
The South Korean mystery crime thriller weaves together the lives of two innkeepers from different time periods. In 2000, Gu Sang Joon (played by Yoon Kye Sang) runs a lakeside motel in the countryside. Meanwhile, in the summer of 2021, Jeon Young Ha (played by Kim Yoon Seok) manages a secluded pension within a forest. It is set to release on Netflix on August 23. It stars Yoon Kaesang, Go Min-si, Lee Jeong-eun, Kim Yoon-seok, and Park Ji-hwan.
That ’90s Show Part 3
The show is back to bring back memories. The logline reads, “It’s 1996, and Leia Forman is back in Point Place for another summer of fun with her friends and grandparents, Kitty and Red. Leia and Jay are excited to be together again after nine months of long distance. But she’s worried because Jay still doesn’t know that she almost kissed Nate”. The sequel series to Netflix’s hit and fan favorite That ’70s Show stars Smith, Debra Jo Rupp (reprising her role as Kitty), Kelly Haverda (Leia), Ashley Aufderheide (Gwen), Mace Coronel (Jay), Maxwell Ace Donovan (Nate), Rain Doi (Ozzie) and Sam Morelos (Nikki). It was released on Netflix on August 22.
IC 814: Kandahar hijacking
This drama series tells the story of the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999. It shows the experiences of the passengers and crew over a week. Produced by Anubhav Sinha, this mini-series stars Vijay Verma, Naseeruddin Shah, Patralekhaa and Pankaj Kapoor in the lead roles. It will release on Netflix on August 29.
I am standing
Directed by Vivek Anchaliya, Tikadam is a touching story of a father, played by Amit Sial, who has to leave his village in Uttarakhand to seek better financial prospects in the city. It will start streaming on Jio Cinema on August 23.

The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat
Starring Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Uzo Aduba and others, the film is about three best friends. It is based on the best-selling novel of the same name. The synopsis reads, “New shades of life’s joys and sorrows, marriage and babies, happiness and sadness, love and loss, heartbreak and illness threaten to shake up the past when the trio test their bond as they face their most challenging times”. It will release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 23.
