Horror Movies Released In 2025: The year 2025 proved to be a great year for horror movie lovers. This year, hair-raising stories and the return of old hit franchises maintained a tremendous atmosphere of awe in the theatres. Not only ghosts, but also mind-boggling psycho-thrillers and supernatural powers based on folklore were seen on the screen, which did not let the audience leave their seats.

This year, the audience was not only scared, but was also kept captivated in the theaters with hair-raising stories. Especially the way South Indian cinema interwoven its folklore and old rituals with horror, it created a different curiosity among the audience.
The year 2025 started with ‘Chhori 2’ released on Amazon Prime Video on 11 April 2025. Like the first part, this sequel starring Nushrat Bharucha and Soha Ali Khan kept the audience captivated with supernatural elements and psychological scares. The story of a mother’s fight to save her daughter and how she faces terrifying forces has garnered a lot of appreciation. This film was known for adding social message to horror. ‘The Bhootani’ hits theaters on May 1. Starring Sanjay Dutt, Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh and Palak Tiwari, this horror-comedy was based on the story of a ghost living on a virgin tree in a college campus.
