Soren is going to join BJP along with his son Babu Lal Soren on August 30.
When asked about JMM’s statement that they have been exposed, Champai Soren said, as reported in the report YearHe said, “I don’t think it would be appropriate to react to this. I have struggled a lot and our history in Jharkhand is clear. But we will join the BJP.”
Welcoming Soren into the party, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi said he has made the right choice.
Jiten Manjhi said, “Champai Soren was the CM of Jharkhand and was doing good work. It is true that he was made the CM, but instead of asking him to resign, all his work was cancelled and a new leader was chosen. He was insulted, after which Champai Soren has chosen the second option. He has done the right thing.”
Meanwhile, JMM leader Manoj Pandey criticised the BJP, saying they are dependent on other parties and do not have a face of their own.
Manoj Pandey said, “It is sad, but now the situation is clear. He is going to join some other party. Only time will tell what its impact will be. History has proved that those who have left JMM and joined some other party have not got that respect…BJP’s existence depends on our leaders…they (BJP) do not have any face of their own.”
