health education in schools
The education system is the basis of the functioning of the society. And sadly, health is not a widely covered topic like trigonometry or which war was fought in which year. Revanth highlighted the need to include health education in the school curriculum. Food Farmer said, “We [India] If we were taught about health every day in class 1 to 10 or class 12, we would not have been the diabetes capital.” He stressed that it is important to teach proper dietary habits to the young population, starting with the basics such as what are calories, what are proteins and most importantly, how one should eat properly. Health is not being given due attention in the education system.

QR code as food label
Revanth proposed the idea of using a QR code, which when scanned shows the same nutritional label in 15 languages. There are many languages in India and to make any information accessible it has to be presented in the regional language. It is important to make information accessible to everyone. The best understanding is in the mother tongue. However, nutrition labels on food packets in India are mostly in English.
warning labels on food packages
Finally, the influencer said that food with high calories or sugar content needs to carry a warning label warning consumers about the health consequences. This is similar to the warning labels about cancer on cigarette packets. Such labels may deter people from making unhealthy choices.
