Mukesh Chhabra praised the heartfelt story and emotional depth of Twenty One, highlighting the performances of Dharmendra, Agastya Nanda and Jaideep Ahlawat.
On Monday, 29 December, a special screening of Twenty One was held in Mumbai, which was attended by several star stars including Salman Khan and Sunny Deol. Now, casting director Mukesh Chhabra has shared his honest review of the film, praising its emotional depth and honest story.

Mukesh took to X (formerly Twitter) and praised Twenty One. He wrote, “Just watched Ikkis Dekhi – a film made completely from the heart. Gentle, honest story that stays with you long after it’s over. Dharmendra sir… What beauty, what depth. If this is your last film, it truly breaks the heart. You have left something extremely emotional and important for us. You will be greatly missed sir.”
He praised the performances of Agastya and Simar as well as Jaideep Ahlawat, and wrote, “And Jaideep Ahlawat – hats off. I really didn’t expect this, and I’m glad to be surprised. Warm welcome to Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia – both were gorgeous on screen. Lovely eyes, lovely chemistry. Agastya’s innocence and sincerity really shines. Special mention to Vivaan Shah and Sikander Kher – excellent work. And Above all – Sriram Raghavan. Once again, sir… a heart-touching film that feels personal.

The biographical war drama is based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, PVC, portrayed by Agastya Nanda. The film narrates his martyrdom in the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 India–Pakistan War. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film also stars Dharmendra in the role of Brigadier ML Khetrapal (retd), Arun Khetrapal’s father; Jaideep Ahlawat as Brigadier Khawaja Mohammad Naseer, a Pakistani Army officer; and Rahul Dev as Lieutenant Colonel (later Lieutenant General) Hanut Singh, MVC.
The film marks the theatrical debut of Agastya Nanda and the Bollywood debut of Akshay Kumar’s niece Simar Bhatia. Earlier this film was scheduled to release on December 25, now it will be released in theaters on January 1, 2026.
